La Piazza at Hyatt Regency New Delhi Brings Back A Nostalgic Menu To Celebrate 30 Years

When you think of stepping out for an Italian meal in the capital, a few names come as strikingly as La Piazza. Famed for its Tiramisu –– arguably the best in Delhi – it has become a regular spot for many. The secret to its popularity? Consistent quality and an indulgent spread of authentic Italian dishes, perfectly paired with an exquisite selection of wines.

Since opening its doors in 1994, La Piazza has held its place as one of the city’s top Italian restaurants. It was Delhi's first trattoria-style eatery, with its rustic charm transporting diners straight to an Italian street-side café. Even after 30 years, the restaurant’s warm, inviting design remains as captivating as it was on day one, offering an authentic dining experience that keeps customers coming back.

Rewinding to 30 years ago, La Piazza truly revolutionised the city's culinary scene. At a time when Delhi had little exposure to Italian cuisine, it introduced diners to the rich flavours of Italy, from its regional specialities to freshly made pasta and gelato. For the first time, Delhiites could enjoy authentic pizza without needing to travel abroad. Among its many firsts, La Piazza pioneered the live kitchen concept in New Delhi, showcasing hand-tossed pizzas, fresh pasta, and gourmet dishes made right before the guests’ eyes. It also introduced India’s first espresso in 1994 and served the now-iconic tiramisu to its loyal customers. Signature dishes like the Pizza La Piazza and the Ravioli have earned widespread praise. For wine lovers, La Piazza’s curated wine selection, sourced from some of the world’s finest vineyards, complements the menu beautifully, highlighting the unique characteristics of each dish.

And what if we told you, you have a chance to dig into some of your favourite dishes that are no longer on the menu? Yes, Delhi’s most loved Italian destination La Piazza completes three decades of culinary excellence, and to celebrate the glorious occasion, they have specially curated a Nostalgic Menu that brings back some of the most legendary dishes! "For 30 years, La Piazza has been proud to offer the finest Italian cuisine, always led by an authentic Italian Chef, providing an exceptional dining experience. Our loyal patrons have supported us over the years because we have remained true to our core values: exceptional service, innovative and ever-changing menus featuring only the freshest, highest-quality ingredients, and a welcoming atmosphere," stated General Manager Daniel Dolatre, reflecting on the milestone.

What's on the menu?

This menu is all about bringing back some of the best flavours from the last three decades and creating new memories. You'll find favourites like Pumpkin Panna Cotta (2007) and Grilled Garlic Prawn Salad (2008), as well as comforting soups like Tomato and Bread Soup (2009) and Messines-style Lentil Soup (2024). Pasta lovers can enjoy classics like Mozzarella and Eggplant Ravioli (2004) and Green Peas Risotto (2009), while main courses feature Chicken Cannelloni (2010) and Pan-seared Lamb Tenderloin (2016), along with vegetarian and seafood options. And don't miss out on the delightful desserts like Fried Cannoli (2018) and Sicilian Cassata (2024) for a sweet finish.

One standout dish was the creamy Pumpkin panna cotta, served with Parmesan cheese sauce and a slice of black truffle. We couldn't stop digging into it. The menu also includes a Grilled garlic prawn salad with rocket lettuce, pomegranate, and balsamic dressing, as well as a chunky tomato bread soup with a powerful taste of fried basil, and a range of perfectly cooked risottos. For a stronger flavour, you can opt for the porcini mushroom risotto, or go for the more subtle green pea risotto, which is also delicious and comes with generous amounts of aged Parmesan shaving.

Vegetarians will delight in the mozzarella eggplant ravioli tossed in fresh tomato sauce, which bursts with the perfect balance of flavours. The iconic and much-loved Pizza La Piazza is worth trying, loaded with tomato, mozzarella, sundried tomato, basil pesto, roasted garlic, and goat cheese. Non-vegetarians have options as well, including the Chicken cannelloni tossed in delicious parmesan fondue and the visually delightful tuna fillet with grape sauce for a seafood twist.

Indulge in the perfect ending to your meal with our irresistible desserts! The restaurant's renowned Classic Tiramisu never fails to make an appearance, leaving everyone craving for more. The fried cannoli, filled with white chocolate, and dried orange, and topped with orange sauce, delivers a delightful combination of sweetness and crunch. While our Tiramisu may not stick to the traditional Italian recipe, its unique texture sets it apart, offering a sweeter and more indulgent experience.

A visit to La Piazza always leaves you yearning for more! And when you have the opportunity to savour exclusive off-menu specials, it's an irresistible invitation to return for more culinary delights!
