Inside The Five-Story Moët Hennessy Cocktail Bar, CRAVAN

Arushi Sakhuja

It's time to amplify your cocktail experience to make it more luxurious and experiential. If you are looking for an exclusive cocktail experience while sipping on your favourite tipple, luxury group LVMH has pushed the boundaries as the brand has introduced its first-ever cocktail bar in Paris, Cravan. Moët and Hennessy's latest business venture in luxury hospitality and sophisticated cocktails is a true hidden gem at Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Moët Hennessy is expanding its place in the cocktail world. The wine and spirits arm of LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE has gone beyond stocking bottles behind the bar.

The bar takes its name from Arthur Cravan, a poet and boxer known as a precursor of the Dada and Surrealist movements. Sprawled across five floors with three cocktail bars, it is nestled inside a Parisian building from the 17th century, reimagined by Belgian designer Ramy Fischler. Consumers can experience different ambiences inspired by art, fashion, cinema, or literature across three cocktail bars as well as a Rizzoli bookstore curated by CRAVAN. The top floors house a by-invitation-only private atelier and mini-Parisian kiosk, perched on the building’s rooftop, where movies will be screened on warm summer nights. The emporium features eclectic interiors inspired by surrealist art and the neighbourhood's literary history.

Philippe Schaus, Chairman and CEO of Moët Hennessy said: “It is with great pride that we open the doors of CRAVAN, bringing to life Moët Hennessy’s mission: crafting experiences. I am delighted to start welcoming our guests at the heart of the historical literary neighbourhood of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, inviting them to step into the unique and singular universe of CRAVAN. Celebrating epicureanism through a sustainable, lasting and inspired approach to hospitality, CRAVAN is a strategic milestone in Moët Hennessy’s ambition to lead the future of luxury wines and spirits.”

Helmed by celebrated restaurateur and cocktail expert Franck Audoux, CRAVAN’s founder and Artistic Director, he brings his knowledge of the Parisian hospitality scene and his unique approach to cocktail-making, both scientific and poetic, while Moët Hennessy shares its extensive experience of luxury art de vivre and world-renowned wines and spirits.

At the bar, you can naturally expect a variety of Champagne-based tipples. The Left Bank outpost will serve a variety of Champagne-based tipples called the Royals that will be spiked with Ruinart Brut and Moët & Chandon. Other signature cocktails include the Lady from Shanghai with peach-infused vodka, jasmine tea, and lime and the Isadora with tequila and morello sour cherries. Audoux designed a selection of light bites, including a lobster roll, a Vacherin grilled cheese on Japanese milk bread, and a sea urchin dip. Not bad accompaniments to bubbly and cocktails, we'd say!
