Tell us about your Netflix debut in Bollywood Wives VS Fabulous Lives.

I’m thrilled about the series Fabulous Lives Vs Bollywood Wives. This exciting show, filmed across three stunning locations, promises to be a visual feast with its picturesque settings and extravagant, stylish wardrobes. Expect an abundance of gossip, fun, and lively banter!

What current jewellery trends do you find most intriguing, and how do they align with contemporary art trends?

I don't typically follow trends in jewellery, fashion, or art. I prefer to create my own style, although I am inevitably influenced by what is available in the market. Current trends don't drive my choices; instead, I focus on personal touches and unique designs. For example, I've always loved wearing pearl tassels, which I designed myself. My style is about personal improvisation, regardless of current trends.

How has your style evolved over the years, and how does jewellery fit into that evolution?

My style has evolved into a classic aesthetic. While I do experiment with shapes and prints occasionally, my wardrobe predominantly features timeless pieces. I enjoy draping sarees in innovative ways, wearing long gowns and jumpsuits, and selecting unique jewellery from around the world. Cameo jewellery and antique pieces are particular favourites.

How do you choose the jewellery you wear for red-carpet events versus everyday life?

For red-carpet events, the jewellery must complement the outfit, making a statement while fitting the occasion. In everyday life, practicality and wearability take precedence. I don't wear jewellery daily as it can be inconvenient, but when I do, it must be stylish and effective for the intended purpose.

Do you have a favourite piece of jewellery that holds sentimental value? Could you share the story behind it?

Yes, my grandmother's necklace is particularly dear to me. It was worn by my mother on her engagement day and later passed down to me. This necklace carries deep sentimental value and embodies the sentiment expressed by Elizabeth Taylor, who once said,

“Jewelry has the power to be the one little thing that makes you feel unique.”

Which designers or brands do you gravitate towards when selecting jewellery, and why?

I prioritize exceptional quality and unique designs over brand names. Vintage jewellery holds a special place in my heart, and I am particularly fond of pieces from Cartier and Bulgari. My focus is always on finding pieces that stand out due to their craftsmanship and design.

What role does jewellery play in your style, and how does it complement your overall look?

Jewellery is a key element in my wardrobe. I love to wear pieces that are meaningful and artistic, which help enhance and accentuate my outfits. I carefully select jewellery that suits the mood and the occasion, always aiming for a balance between standing out and complementing my overall look.

As an art collector, how do you view the craftsmanship and design of jewellery in comparison to traditional art forms?

The craftsmanship and design of jewellery are comparable to traditional art forms. Many jewellery houses continue to honour traditional practices, much like Indian jewellers such as Jain Palace, Amrapali, and Bharani. It's fascinating to see how these jewellers maintain traditional methods, showcasing the rich craftsmanship of Indian jewellery.
