The Golden Globes 2024 marks the beginning of the award season, which celebrates the achievements in both film and television. Barbie and Succession received nine nominations each, making them the top contenders of the night and Oppenheimer followed closely behind with eight. The Golden Globes 2024 is also making history tonight by introducing a new category: Cinematic and Box Office Achievement. This new award recognizes high-grossing films, some of which may not receive other prestigious nods. Barbenheimer dominated the summer box office, but Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, John Wick: Chapter 4, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part 1, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, and The Super Mario Bros. Movie make up the inaugural class of nominees.
The event is known for its stunning fashion and the Red Carpet has witnessed many iconic fashion moments over the years. From Julia Roberts dressed in a pinstriped skirt suit in 1991 to Nicole Kidman's peacock feathered Gucci dress in 2005, and Natalie Portman's rose-embellished Viktor & Rolf in 2011. Last year's highlights included Jessica Chastain wearing a crystal spiderweb dress by Oscar de la Renta, Rihanna in a voluminous Schiaparelli, Hillary Swank's Prada maternity look, and Emma D'Arcy's suiting from Acne Studios. Here is a preview of the Golden Globes 2024: best-dressed celebrities.
Margot Robbie in Giorgio Armani
Channeling the Barbiecore aesthetic, and her role in the blockbuster film, Margot Robbie wore a pink Giorgio Armani gown to the Golden Glober 2024. Romantic and feminine, the ruffles added an allure to the look.
Jennifer Lopez in Nicole + Felicia Couture
Trust JLO to make heads turn in even the most basic ensemble. The star looked like a dream in this Nicole and Felicia baby pink gown. Featuring statement sleeves and a long trail it looked ethereal on the red carpet.
Taylor Swift in Gucci
The New Year might be over, but sequins isn't going anyway and Taylor Swift's green sequin gown at the Golden Globes 2024 is proof enough.
Selena Gomez in Giorgio Armani
Embracing the hot colour trend of the season Selena graced the red carpet in a high-low red gown. The criss-cross cutout detailing particularly caught our gaze.
Billie Elish
Making a strong case for androgynous fashion and breaking the mould, Billie stepped out in an oversized blazer with a beige skirt and Mary Janes over stockings.
Florence Pugh in Valentino
Red surely is the colour of the season! Florence Pugh opted for a sheer red gown with 3D detailing that stole the show at the Golden Globes 2024.
Emma Stone in Louis Vuitton
Elegant, romantic and pristine. Emma Stone looked dreamy in a Louis Vuitton sequin gown with floral detailing and the thigh-high slit and low neckline added a sexy appeal to the look.
Oprah Winfrey in Louis Vuitton
Yet another sequins look for the night, but this time Ophrah is embracing a dark purple hue that had us in awe. The off-shoulder and fish cut silhouette by Louis Vuitton, flatters her to perfection.
Jared Leto
Trust Jared Lato to embrace an oversized blazer on the red carpet. Chaneeling a red carpet affair with a contemporary twist Jared looks nothing short of dapper to say the least.
Reese Witherspoon in Monique Lhuillier
Reese Witherspoon knows how to make basic look great! Her monotone Monique Lhuillier creation was elegant with being OTT. The diamond string perfectly complemented the elegance of her couture.
Meryl Streep
Merlyn Streep once again proves that age is just a number. The star donned a block sequins co-ord set teamed with a pussy bow blouse, a sharp look that gave major boss vibes. Because there couldn't be a better Miranda Priestly.
Karen Gillan in Iris Van Herpen
Steering away from the regular red carpet spotting, Karen Gillan's Iris Van Herpen was a delight. A mix of sheer and 3D, this is a refreshing choice that is subtle yet statement-making.
Dua Lipa in Schiaparelli
After her spectacular NYE celebrations in India, Dua Lipa us back to work. Donning a Schiaparelli, her outfit screamed drama. The voluminous silhouette was bold and avant-garde as compared to her contemporaries on the red carpet. Teamed with the criss-cross bold necklace it was the perfect finishing touch.
Timothée Chalamet in Celine
The Wonka start Timothee proves that sequins is in for everyone this season. A shar all-black look rarely fails to impress and he was undoubtedly one of the best dressed celebrities at the Golden Globes 2024.
Natalie Portman in Dior
A burst of colour but with embellishments, Natalie Portman's Dior creation is a classic by the house. Reminiscent of the iconic 1946 silhouette, the fit and flare gown also replicated the majesticity of florals using sequins.
Lenny Kravitz in Alexander McQueen
Bringing back the disco vibe, we loved Lenny's all-back structure meets fluidity look. Wide-legged pants that resemble the 80's glamour and a cropped jacket made the look striking.
Barry Keoghan in Louis Vuitton
Red hot! Barry Keoghan was the brightness when it comes to male fashion at the Red Carpet. This striking red outfit might be just want the red carpet needed.
