Walt Disney, is the brand that made fairytales exist. A whimsical dreamy world of fictional characters, and happy endings, a trip to Disney is every child's (and adult's dream). Be it the fireworks outside the Magic Kingdom in Orlando, the parades with Disney characters, animated movies or larger-than-life sets. This year the iconic brand has completed 100 years of creativity and storytelling. To celebrate the 100th-anniversary occasion, Disney's Create 100 global campaign invited creatives from around the world to contribute a unique piece, inspired by its stories and characters, in support of make-a-wish®.

The Create 100 campaign celebrates creativity while also providing support to the Make-A-Wish organization. With a donation of $1 million, this initiative is aimed at helping children who are suffering from critical illnesses. According to Luciano Manzo, the President and CEO of Make-A-Wish International, "Create 100 showcases the power of creativity to bring hope. This inspirational initiative will help grant life-changing wishes for children around the world who are living with critical illnesses. We are so grateful to Disney and all the artists involved for their support."

In order to curate 100 items and experiences from individuals across 6 continents and over 25 countries, the global campaign challenged some of the most inventive minds to showcase the power of creativity. This includes some of the world’s most renowned visionaries and next-generation talent across fashion, music, art, and more. These talented individuals have donated artworks, items, and experiences that were inspired by their personal connection to stories and characters across Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and 20th Century. Disney and Virgil Abloh Securities have launched the Disney Create 100 campaign with the unveiling of a 6-foot sculpture of Sorcerer's Apprentice Mickey from Disney's Fantasia at the Royal College of Art in London. The sculpture pays homage to the late Virgil Abloh and is inspired by his work on the grid furniture series and the Mickey Mouse illustration he created in 2018 for Mickey Mouse's 90th birthday, according to Shannon Abloh, his wife.

The Create 100 campaign includes well-known names such as Beyoncé, Christian Louboutin, Sabyasachi, Lang Lang, Tommy Hilfiger, Coach, Pandora, Adidas, Swarovski, and more. Some notable contributions include Swarovski's real-life Cinderella-inspired glass slipper, Verdy's original acrylic painting of Disney characters Vick and Pluto on wooden canvas, Schiparelli's rare and timeless wearable crystal sculpture, and Tommy Hilfiger's iconic varsity jacket featuring Manga Mickey & Friends.

India is also represented on the list with Sabyasachi, who expressed excitement and gratitude for the opportunity. He credited Disney for shaping his imagination and making him the designer he is today, calling it an honour and privilege to be a part of the Create 100 campaign. “I grew up with the beloved character Mickey Mouse. There weren’t endless streams of entertainment back then, but Disney was always around. I think the fantastical worlds created by Disney shaped my imagination and made me the designer I am today. It’s my absolute honour and privilege to represent India and be a part of Create 100. It feels like a perfect homecoming.” - Sabyasachi
