Banyan Tree Valle de Guadalupe Resort Is A New Pinnacle in Wellness Retreats

Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts have redefined luxury travel, boasting a presence in over 22 countries and 80 hotels. Now, the 30-year-old Singapore-based group has added a new jewel to its crown with the unveiling of Banyan Tree Valle de Guadalupe Resort, a wellness retreat nestled in the picturesque Baja California wine country. Located just 90 minutes from the U.S. southern border, this resort is Banyan Tree’s first property in the Americas and its second Veya spin-off.

Set amidst the stunning mountain ranges and vineyards of Mexico's northern Baja California, Banyan Tree Valle de Guadalupe Resort offers a serene escape for those seeking to reconnect with nature. This is the fifth property for the Banyan Tree Group in Mexico, conveniently accessible from San Diego or Tijuana International Airport. Ximena Dipp, General Manager of Banyan Tree Veya Valle de Guadalupe, expressed excitement about the opening, saying, "We are thrilled to welcome guests to Banyan Tree Veya Valle de Guadalupe and to offer a blend of wine and wellness experiences in a unique and breathtaking setting. Our team is dedicated to creating outstanding experiences for our guests, from exploring the art of Grenache with our winemakers to experiencing rejuvenating local rituals with our healers, all reflecting our passion for wellbeing and connection to nature."

The resort’s architecture, designed by Mexican architect Michel Rojkind and smArq Arquitectura, harmonizes with the rolling hills of Valle de Guadalupe. Spanning 16 acres, the resort features 30 villas with private plunge pools, well-being experiences, and an ethnobotanical garden. The villas showcase a modern aesthetic with a muted colour palette of white and beige, complemented by large bay windows offering panoramic views. The interiors emphasize wellness and sustainability, with furniture crafted from dehydrated Tzalam wood, sourced from Mexico's tropical forests, fostering a sense of harmony with the surroundings.

Each villa is designed with well-being in mind, providing high-end amenities like yoga mats, floating weights, and mindfulness aids. The Winemaker's Three-bedroom Pool Villa, accommodating up to six guests, offers impressive vineyard views for those seeking a luxurious group stay.

At the heart of Banyan Tree Valle de Guadalupe Resort is its focus on well-being. Drawing on Asian traditions, the resort’s experiences are built around the Banyan Group’s 8 Pillars of Wellbeing. The Veya Spa offers world-class treatments, including four treatment rooms, the Desert Spring hydrotherapy room, the Vitality Fitness Studio, the White Cave for meditation and sound healing, the Multifunction Movement Studio, two hilltop pools, a labyrinth, and a traditional temazcal. The wellness experience is further enriched with integrated functional movements and mindful awareness, featuring daily group and private classes in breathwork, singing bowl therapy, apothecary workshops, yoga, meditation, and more.

The resort’s private winery, focusing exclusively on Grenache, and its exceptional culinary outlets are standout features. Under the guidance of Food and Beverage Manager Fernando Labra Degante, the resort’s seven culinary concepts promote conscious living through the use of healthy, locally harvested ingredients that support small farms and sustainable sourcing.

Room rates at Banyan Tree Veya Valle de Guadalupe start at $599 per night.
